Bandera Middle School Volleyball Teams Face Del Rio in Intense Matches

The Lady Bulldogs of Bandera Middle School showcased their talent and determination as they faced off against Del Rio in thrilling volleyball matchups. Here's a recap of the action:

8th Grade A Team: The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Del Rio to take on the Queens in a closely contested match. The first set was a hard-fought battle, but Bandera narrowly lost with a score of 24-26. In the second set, communication and passing became challenging for the team, leading to a 5-25 loss. Despite the outcome, every player pushed themselves to get the team back in tempo. Some notable stats include serving aces from Briley Clark (1), Kolbie Lawlis (3), and Taylor Marrs (1). The team also recorded digs and kills by several players, and assists were distributed among Briley Clark, Addison Ashcraft, Alexis Fraizer, and Isabella Pace. Bandera Middle School's 8th Grade A Team will face Pearsall in their second round of district play next Monday.

8th Grade B Team: In an enthralling encounter, the Bandera 8th Grade B Team displayed commendable skill and teamwork against Del Rio. Despite their exceptional performance, they narrowly lost in the thrilling third set. Leighann Spangler stood out with her ace serves, and Karlee Hamilton, Krista Goldstein, Ella Vollmer, and Blake Waid provided valuable assists. The team's defense, led by Gracelyn Upton, Aubrie Moore, Olivia Walker, Emma Rynarzewski, and Kylie Hall, was remarkable and contributed significantly to the match's excitement. Bandera's 8th Grade B Team showed incredible spirit and resilience throughout the match.

7th Grade A Team: The 7th-grade A Team powered through to finish the first round strong against Del Rio, winning in two sets with scores of 25-12 and 25-16. The team displayed improved trust in themselves and each other, playing some outstanding volleyball. The front row players, including Brooke, Madison, Blu, Gracen, and Brylyn, executed impressive attacks. Serving was a strong suit, with aces from Brooke, Brylyn, Elle, Hadley, Gracen, and Blu. The team's cohesion and progress are evident, and they look forward to the second round with excitement.

7th Grade B Team: The 7th-grade B Team faced Del Rio in a thrilling match, winning in two sets. The first set saw strong serving from Kendall Schmitt and Makensie Clay, with Maikenna Ybarra providing a spark of energy. Molly Dawson's improved passing and court awareness played a crucial role in the team's 25-23 victory. In the second set, Brylee Phillips led with successful serves and great passes, while Makayla Clay showcased her serving skills. Khloe Martinez's passing adjustments helped secure a 25-17 win in the final set. Improved on-court communication and energetic celebrations off the bench boosted the team's confidence. With a 4-1 record, 7th Grade B Team eagerly anticipates their upcoming match against Pearsall.
