A 12-year-old student has been arrested after bringing a firearm to Jubilee San Antonio, according to officials from the San Antonio Police Department.

The incident unfolded when the young suspect reportedly showed a handgun to a couple of friends while on school grounds. Concerned about the situation, the friends promptly informed school administrators about what they had witnessed.

School administrators, acting swiftly upon receiving this information, conducted a thorough search and discovered the firearm inside the suspect's backpack. Following the discovery, law enforcement was summoned to the scene, and the 12-year-old student was subsequently taken into custody right at the school.

Authorities are now conducting an ongoing investigation into the matter.
