Boost Your Landscape: Bandera County Announces Fall Native Seed Sale

BANDERA, Texas - Fall is an ideal time to establish native grasses and wildflowers, and the Bandera County Soil & Water Conservation District is once again offering its popular native grass seed and wildflower mixes for landowners preparing to plant this fall.

The specially selected seed blends are designed for Bandera County and the surrounding Hill Country. The grass mixes include nurse grass, which provide temporary shade and protection for emerging native plants while they become established.

Native grasses and wildflowers can provide important benefits for landowners, including improved wildlife habitat, reduced erosion, improved soil health and increased resilience of native rangelands.

Available are Caliche Grass Seed Mix, Range Grass Seed Mix, Wildflower Mix, Fall Food Plot Mix, and ever popular Texas Bluebonnets.

Recent rainfall has improved soil moisture conditions across the area, and forecasts calling for a wetter-than-normal winter could provide favorable conditions for establishment.

The district covers shipping costs, and landowners with a valid Texas Agricultural and Timber Registration Number will not pay sales tax.
