New Braunfels Police Detain Two Adults and a Juvenile in Drug Distribution Case

Daniel Esposito and Charles Esposito

Two local men were arrested and a 16-year-old boy was detained last week following an incident involving alleged marijuana distribution, fleeing from law enforcement, and tampering with evidence.

The incident unfolded on the evening of Friday, August 11, when authorities responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Hilltop Summit Road in Fischer Park at approximately 8:00 p.m.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers encountered 18-year-old Daniel Jose Esposito of New Braunfels, who was attempting to exit the vehicle. Esposito reportedly fled from officers, but he was subsequently apprehended. During a search of the vehicle, police discovered several backpacks containing items believed to be related to the distribution of controlled substances.

Inside the backpacks, law enforcement officials reportedly found approximately 1 pound of marijuana divided into individual bags. Additionally, the backpacks were found to contain around 327 grams of other THC products, including edible items and vape pens. Further inspection of the vehicle led to the discovery of a handgun.

Daniel Esposito was placed under arrest and is facing charges of manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance, evading arrest, and possession of marijuana.

In a parallel development, 54-year-old Joseph Charles Esposito, also a resident of New Braunfels, was taken into custody. He has been charged with manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana, and unlawful carrying of a weapon. The relationship between the two men has not been disclosed by Police.

Notably, a 16-year-old male who was allegedly involved in attempting to conceal the backpacks was also detained by police. The teenager has been transported to the Guadalupe County Juvenile Detention Center and is facing charges that mirror those of the adult suspects, including manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of marijuana.
