COMAL COUNTY, Texas - Six victims of human trafficking were rescued and six people were arrested during a three-day undercover enforcement operation targeting commercial sex trafficking in Central Texas, according to the Comal County Sheriff's Office.

Operation Rolling Thunder 4 was conducted through a partnership between the Comal County Sheriff's Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office, U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division and the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations.

Investigators used undercover online communications and coordinated surveillance to identify trafficking victims, arrest offenders and develop criminal cases.

During the operation, authorities rescued six victims believed to be involved in human trafficking.

Investigators also arrested six individuals on charges of solicitation of prostitution and identified 157 people who responded to online advertisements created as part of the operation.

In addition to the solicitation arrests, investigators made several arrests involving controlled substance offenses.

Sheriff Mark Reynolds praised the collaborative effort among the participating agencies.

"Operation Rolling Thunder 4 is a direct result of the tenacity of our investigators and the strong partnerships we've built with agencies across the state and military," Reynolds said. "Together, we are making our community safer."

The Comal County Sheriff's Office said operations targeting human trafficking will continue as part of its ongoing efforts to identify victims, arrest offenders and combat exploitation in the region.
