Bexar County Man Arrested After Grooming Undercover Officers Posing as 14-Year-Olds

Alonzo Arce Jr

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - A 42-year-old Bexar County man has been arrested after investigators say he engaged in online grooming behavior with undercover law enforcement officers posing as 14-year-old children in two separate investigations.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, the investigation began on June 2 when Alonzo David Arce Jr. began communicating with an undercover U.S. Secret Service investigator who was posing online as a 14-year-old.

Investigators later discovered Arce was simultaneously the subject of a separate investigation by another law enforcement agency involving an undercover investigator also posing as a 14-year-old.

Authorities said Arce's communications demonstrated a pattern of grooming behavior and indicated an intent to engage in sexual activity with a child.

Following the investigation, two arrest warrants were issued for Arce.

He was taken into custody without incident at a private business in the 7500 block of Northwest Loop 410.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone who believes they may have been victimized by Arce to contact the Bexar County Sheriff's Office at 210-335-6000.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office thanked the United States Secret Service for its assistance in identifying the suspect and supporting the investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing.
