SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The San Antonio Police Department's North SAFFE Team is honoring the life of Betsy "Chappy B" Buhler, a longtime Community Bible Church leader whose faith, compassion and service left a lasting impact on officers, church members and the San Antonio community.

In a tribute shared Tuesday, July 28, the North SAFFE Team remembered Buhler as a woman whose unwavering faith and commitment to serving others inspired generations.

According to the department, Buhler faithfully served Community Bible Church and the surrounding community for more than 20 years, demonstrating what officers described as humility, excellence, compassion and an unwavering commitment to her Christian faith.

Many North SAFFE officers said Buhler played a personal role in encouraging them during some of the most difficult periods of their lives, offering prayers, words of encouragement and steadfast support.

The officers said Buhler's ability to continue serving others with joy despite facing her own personal challenges served as an example of resilience and faith.

The North SAFFE Team also expressed appreciation to the San Antonio Police Department for allowing officers to travel to Tennessee to attend Buhler's funeral services and pay their respects.

Officers said the department's support reflected the close bond shared within the law enforcement community and the significant impact Buhler had on many members of the agency.

The team also thanked Buhler's family for sharing her with the community and allowing officers the opportunity to honor her memory.

A memorial service celebrating Buhler's life is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at Community Bible Church's Central Campus in San Antonio.

In its tribute, the North SAFFE Team said Buhler's legacy of faith, service and compassion will continue to inspire officers and the community she faithfully served for decades.
