Following a brief search, Officer Garcia located the suspect hiding inside his girlfriend's apartment, where he was taken into custody without further incident.

The suspect was identified as Jacob Woods, 24.

Woods was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, a state jail felony, and evading arrest or detention with a previous conviction, also a state jail felony.

The San Antonio Police Department credited Officer Garcia's quick response and persistence with preventing the theft and safely apprehending the suspect.
