SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Two convicted felons have been arrested in connection with a pair of armed robberies that occurred on consecutive days in San Antonio, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
Investigators said two masked, armed suspects entered a car dealership on July 17 and held an employee at gunpoint while stealing multiple vehicle key fobs and cash.
The following day, authorities said the same suspects carried out a second aggravated robbery at a local bank. During that robbery, the suspects allegedly pointed a firearm at a bank teller and stole personal belongings from several customers.
The San Antonio Police Department's Robbery Task Force Unit and Street Crimes Unit identified the suspects as 57-year-old Omar Resendez-Diaz and 36-year-old Luis Alejandro Barrios.
Resendez-Diaz was arrested on the evening of July 22, while Barrios was taken into custody the following morning, July 23.
Barrios has been charged with Aggravated Robbery. His bond was set at $500,000.
Resendez-Diaz has been charged with Aggravated Robbery, and authorities said he is also wanted on a federal warrant issued through the U.S. Marshals Service stemming from a warrant obtained by the San Angelo Police Department. His bond on the aggravated robbery charge was set at $350,000.
Police said GPS monitoring has been ordered for both defendants.
According to court records, both men have prior felony convictions. Resendez-Diaz has an extensive criminal history that includes previous arrests for Aggravated Kidnapping in 2023, vehicle theft and illegal entry into the United States in 2018, and Murder in 1988.
The investigation remains ongoing.
