Pleasanton Man Arrested After Drug Investigation Leads to Search Warrant

PLEASANTON, Texas. A Pleasanton man was arrested Friday morning after investigators executing a search warrant allegedly discovered methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin packaged for distribution.

According to the Pleasanton Police Department, members of the department's Emergency Response Team, the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division and an investigator with the 81st Judicial District Attorney's Office executed a search warrant at approximately 7 a.m. on July 17 in the 700 block of Adams Street.

Authorities said the warrant stemmed from a joint investigation by the Pleasanton Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division that identified the residence as a suspected location used for the distribution of illegal narcotics.

During the search, detectives reported finding methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin that investigators allege had been packaged and prepared for distribution.

Roy Fernandez of Pleasanton was taken into custody and transported to the Atascosa County Jail.

Fernandez is charged with two counts of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance involving between 4 and 200 grams and one count of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance involving between 1 and 4 grams.

The allegations against Fernandez have not been proven in court. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

The investigation was conducted jointly by the Pleasanton Police Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division and the 81st Judicial District Attorney's Office. The Pleasanton Police Department said it will continue working with its law enforcement partners on proactive narcotics investigations throughout the city.
