NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas - A New Braunfels man was killed Friday morning after being struck by a flatbed truck along the Interstate 35 frontage road, according to the New Braunfels Police Department.

At approximately 8:35 a.m. on June 5, 2026, officers and firefighters responded to the 1100 block of Interstate 35 North on the southbound frontage road, just south of Loop 337 and Highway 46 South, following reports of an auto-pedestrian collision.

Preliminary investigators determined that a 30-year-old New Braunfels man was walking on the sidewalk adjacent to the frontage road when he was struck by a flatbed truck.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The New Braunfels Police Department Traffic Unit responded to conduct a full traffic reconstruction investigation.

As investigators processed the scene, the affected section of the I-35 frontage road remained closed for approximately three hours.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
