FLORESVILLE, Texas - The Floresville Police Department arrested a man Thursday following a narcotics investigation that led officers to a residence outside Floresville where investigators said drugs and other evidence were recovered.
Police said Lawrence Phillip Talamantez was taken into custody May 21 after a traffic stop during which officers located marijuana inside his vehicle.
According to investigators, a subsequent investigation revealed Talamantez was allegedly receiving narcotics through the United States Postal Service at a residence in Floresville.
Authorities said the investigation later led officers to a residence on County Road 302 just outside the city limits.
After Talamantez’s arrest, officers executed a search warrant at the residence and reported finding multiple narcotics and evidence connected to the investigation.
Talamantez was charged with the following offenses:
• Manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance PG 2 greater than 400 grams
• Manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance PG 2 between 4 grams and 400 grams
• Possession of a controlled substance PG 2 between 4 grams and 400 grams
• Possession of a controlled substance PG 2 less than 1 gram
• Possession of marijuana between 2 ounces and 4 ounces
• Possession of marijuana between 4 ounces and 5 pounds
The Floresville Police Department thanked assisting agencies including the Wilson County Sheriff's Office, the 81st District Attorney’s Office, the San Antonio Police Department, and the United States Postal Service for assisting in the investigation.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.
