Man Arrested After Firing Shots During Domestic Disturbance in Guadalupe County

Gavin Ramsey

GUADALUPE COUNTY, Texas — A man was arrested after deputies say he pointed a firearm at family members and fired multiple shots during a domestic disturbance Thursday morning.

According to the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 7:32 a.m. April 23, 2026, to a report of shots fired in the 2300 block of FM 539.

Investigators identified the suspect as 23-year-old Gavin Ramsey, who had fled the scene in a white Dodge Ram pickup.

A short time later, deputies located the vehicle on FM 467 and conducted a high-risk traffic stop near Elm Creek and Settlers Way. Ramsey was detained without incident, and deputies observed a firearm inside the vehicle.

Through interviews at the scene, authorities said Ramsey confronted his wife and her mother during the disturbance and pointed a firearm at both of them. He then exited the residence and fired multiple rounds at his wife’s unoccupied vehicle.

No injuries were reported.

Deputies said Ramsey admitted to pointing the firearm at the victims and was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He was transported to the Guadalupe County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
