Armed Individual Shot After Advancing on Castle Hills Police Officer


CASTLE HILLS, Texas - The Castle Hills Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred around 8:30 a.m. this morning in the 1000 block of the westbound frontage road of Loop 410, near Exit 19B.

Preliminary information indicates that an officer was responding to a reported hit-and-run traffic incident in the area when an encounter occurred with an individual. During that encounter, the individual exited a vehicle and advanced toward the officer while armed with edged weapons. The officer then discharged their firearm.

At this time, no officers have been reported injured. The scene is secure, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Additional details regarding the individual involved are still under investigation and will be released at the appropriate time.

The Texas Rangers are responding and will be conducting an independent investigation, which is standard protocol in these types of incidents. Additional details remain under investigation.
