KYLE, Texas — Two men have been charged with murder following a fatal fentanyl overdose that claimed the life of a local resident, according to the Kyle Police Department.

Investigators identified 27-year-old Aaron Jones as the alleged supplier of the fentanyl involved in the case and 23-year-old Julian Escamilla as the delivery person connected to distributing the drugs that ultimately led to the victim’s death.

Jones has been charged with murder, while Escamilla faces charges of murder and manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.

Police said the investigation stemmed from a recent overdose death, emphasizing the continuing danger fentanyl poses to communities across Texas.

Kyle Police credited the DEA Houston Division, Austin Police Department, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety for assisting in the investigation.
