Zavala County deputies arrested a Crystal City woman Sunday night after what authorities described as a domestic disturbance that escalated into a physical confrontation with law enforcement.
On the evening of February 15, 2026, deputies responded to a residence on John F. Kennedy Drive following reports of an unwanted subject. When Sgt. K. Delgado arrived, he observed a domestic disturbance in progress.
As deputies attempted to calm the situation and speak with the individual involved, identified as 36-year-old Ashley Aguillon, officials say she became aggressive and refused to comply with commands.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, when deputies attempted to place her into custody, Aguillon physically resisted. She allegedly tried to use a piece of furniture as a weapon and struck deputies multiple times with closed fists.
Aguillon was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and two counts of Assault on a Peace Officer. She was processed and booked into the Zavala County Sheriff’s Office.
Two deputies sustained minor injuries during the altercation. They were transported to Dimmit Regional Hospital for evaluation and have since been medically cleared to return to duty.
The Sheriff’s Office reminded the community that deputies work to keep neighborhoods safe and thanked hospital staff and residents for their continued support.
