GUADALUPE COUNTY, Texas - A 60-year-old Cibolo man stabbed himself in the neck Thursday moments after being sentenced to 12 years in prison in Guadalupe County, authorities said.
Charles Darron Wyatt had just been sentenced February 12, 2026, in courtroom 201 at the Guadalupe County Justice Center for continuous sexual abuse of a child, multiple counts of possession of child pornography and invasive visual recordings.
According to officials, the incident occurred immediately after sentencing and before bailiffs had taken Wyatt into custody. Investigators said Wyatt used a knife believed to be made from plastic or another non-metallic material and stabbed himself several times in the neck.
Emergency medical personnel transported Wyatt to Guadalupe Valley Regional Hospital. He was later airlifted to University Hospital in San Antonio. Authorities said he survived the initial injuries, but his current condition has not been released.
The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. Officials said additional details will be released as they become available.
