LIVE OAK, Texas - Officers with the Live Oak Police Department arrested a man Thursday evening after responding to a reported shots-fired incident near a busy restaurant.
On January 29, 2026, at approximately 5:33 p.m., Live Oak police were dispatched to Twin Peaks Restaurant, located at 3050 IKEA-RBFCU Parkway, after receiving reports that a suspect had pointed a handgun toward the business and fired multiple rounds into the air while driving away.
Using suspect and vehicle descriptions provided by witnesses, officers were able to quickly locate the suspect as he arrived at a nearby residence. During the detention, officers observed spent shell casings and a firearm in plain view inside the vehicle.
The suspect was identified as Manuel Montes Jr. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Bexar County Jail.
Montes was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (third offense or more), Deadly Conduct, and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident. The case remains under investigation by the Live Oak Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
