BEXAR COUNTY, TX - San Antonio police are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of an 18-year-old man Sunday afternoon in West San Antonio.
Officers with the San Antonio Police Department responded on January 18, 2026, to a report of a shooting in the 10000 block of Tiger Field near Military Drive West and Loop 1604. When officers arrived, they discovered a man inside a vehicle who had been fatally shot. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the victim as Deshawn Suggs and ruled his death a homicide.
Authorities confirmed that Suggs had been the subject of an active murder warrant issued by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. The warrant stemmed from a separate homicide investigation involving the death of Alianna Ujueta on September 28, 2025.
According to investigators, Ujueta was shot during a disturbance at a house party on Luckey Road. Witnesses reported that after being shot, she was struck by a black pickup truck that fled the scene. That case remains under active investigation as authorities continue working to identify and account for everyone involved.
Meanwhile, the San Antonio Police Department is leading the investigation into the shooting that killed Suggs. Officials say the two cases are being handled separately, but investigators from both agencies are coordinating closely due to the overlap.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and San Antonio Police Department stated they are maintaining open communication as both investigations continue. No additional suspect information has been released, and police have not said whether Suggs’ death is connected to the earlier homicide.
