The Fredericksburg Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating a man wanted in connection with the rape of a child that occurred eight years ago.
On December 4, 2025, a victim came forward to report that she had been sexually assaulted in 2017, when she was twelve years old. The case was assigned to Detective A. Tittle, who began a detailed investigation. According to police, evidence gathered during the investigation corroborated the victim’s account.
Detective Tittle identified the suspect as David Jackson of Fredericksburg and obtained a felony warrant for rape of a child less than 13 years of age. Jackson remains at large.
Jackson is described as a male, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket and a red beanie. Police say he is known to frequent the FXBGO bus line, downtown Fredericksburg, and the Spotsylvania Towne Centre.
Authorities stress that Jackson should not be approached. Anyone who sees him or knows his whereabouts is urged to contact the Fredericksburg Police Department at 540-372-3122 (option 2) or reach Detective Tittle directly at 540-654-5778.
