The New Braunfels Fire Department has arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection with a fire at the Burlington retail store on Creekside Way that occurred on December 5.
Fire investigators determined the blaze was intentionally set after reviewing surveillance footage, which showed the juvenile igniting the fire. A 14-year-old girl seen in the footage was identified as a witness and will not face charges.
The male juvenile admitted to starting the fire and was taken into custody. He has been charged with arson and transported to the Guadalupe County Detention Center.
The New Braunfels Fire Department thanked the community for their cooperation and said it remains committed to protecting residents and local businesses.
