Guadalupe County Deputy Arrested, Two Officers Face Charges Following Backwoods Icehouse Altercation

GUADALUPE COUNTY, TX - A November 3rd fight in the parking lot of the Backwoods Icehouse in Guadalupe County has led to criminal charges for several individuals, including current and former law enforcement officers.

The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of multiple people fighting at 3301 Dreibrodt Road. Deputies arrested Alberto Trujano Jr. on an outstanding parole violation and charged him with disorderly conduct. Juan Herrera was transported to Seton Hays Hospital for evaluation. Manuel Hernandez, a deputy with the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office, fled the scene but has since been arrested and booked into the Guadalupe County Adult Detention Center. Following his arrest, Hernandez’s employment with the sheriff’s office was terminated.

The investigation, conducted jointly by the Guadalupe County Criminal Investigations Division and Texas Rangers, also identified two officers involved in the incident: Sheriden Murray, a former Guadalupe County deputy now employed with Blanco County Constable Precinct 1, and Juan Herrera. Arrest warrants have been issued for both.

Murray faces a Class A misdemeanor charge of unlawful restraint, while Herrera faces a Class C misdemeanor charge for disorderly conduct. At the time of this release, neither has been taken into custody.

Sheriff Joshua Ray emphasized the importance of accountability, stating, “Our personnel will be held to the highest possible standards of conduct and accountability. This conduct has absolutely no place in our profession.”

The investigation remains ongoing.
