Just before 7 a.m. on Monday, November 17, multiple 911 callers reported a structure fire on County Road 576 in the Medina River West subdivision. Medina County ESD 1 Fire and EMS responded from Stations 10, 11, 15 and 60.
Ladder and Medic 8110 arrived within eight minutes of dispatch and found heavy fire coming from a mobile home. Crews moved quickly, knocking down visible flames and making entry to stop the fire from spreading further.
Thanks to fast response and the fact that the bedroom doors were closed, firefighters were able to keep the damage contained to the common areas. Closing interior doors helped slow the fire’s advance and protected the bedrooms from major damage, a reminder of how a simple action can improve survivability during a fire.
The blaze was brought under control about 20 minutes after dispatch.
Units on scene included Chief 8101, Battalion 8110, Ladder 8110, Medic 8110, Medic 8111, Engine 8115 and Tender 8160. No injuries were reported.
