On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, the Hondo Police Department was contacted by Hondo Independent School District regarding an allegation of misconduct involving a Hondo High School teacher. The department’s Criminal Investigations Division immediately initiated an investigation.
During the course of the investigation, detectives gathered sufficient evidence to obtain arrest warrants for Thomas William Ricker Hill, age 24, on the following charges:
• Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact (Second-Degree Felony)
• Sexual Performance by a Child (Second-Degree Felony)
• Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student (Second-Degree Felony)
The alleged offense occurred on the Hondo High School campus. Hill was arrested on the morning of Thursday, October 23, 2025, and booked into the Medina County Jail. He was no longer employed by Hondo ISD before the end of the school day on October 22, 2025.
To clarify the charge of Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student, this offense is based solely on Hill’s position as an educator. It does not imply any wrongdoing by the student involved. The victim in this case is a juvenile and will not be identified.
“Hondo Police remain committed to conducting thorough investigations in all cases involving individuals entrusted with the care and education of children,” said Chief Soza. “Our top priority is protecting the safety and well-being of our students.”
No further information will be released to protect the privacy of the victim and the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
