KYLE, Texas—A jury found former elementary school teacher Andrew Palmore guilty of continuous sexual abuse of children, leading to a sentence of life in prison without parole on October 16.
The Kyle Police Department (KPD) launched an investigation in February 2022 following an outcry from one child. Initial charges included indecency with a child and an improper relationship between an educator and a student.
As the case unfolded, KPD detectives identified additional victims of various ages across multiple cities. Six victims ultimately provided testimony against Palmore during his trial. Furthermore, Palmore admitted to sexually abusing children during a forensic interview conducted by KPD detectives. Due to the number of victims and the severity of the offenses, Palmore was tried and convicted of the continuous sexual abuse charge.
The KPD credited the life sentence to the outstanding work of its detectives and the Hays County prosecutors on the multi-agency case. The department affirmed its commitment to protecting children and holding offenders "accountable to the fullest extent of the law."
