Pleasanton Woman Sentenced to Nine Years for Methamphetamine Trafficking

April Marie Segura

A Pleasanton woman has been sentenced to nine years in prison for drug trafficking following a 2024 investigation by the Pleasanton Police Department.

April Marie Segura, 41, pleaded guilty on October 7, 2025, to Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and was sentenced to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice–Institutional Division.

The case began on June 13, 2024, when Officer Villa conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle commit an unsafe turn. The car was familiar to the officer from a prior narcotics-related incident. During the stop, officers discovered narcotics, which led investigators to a Super 8 Motel room. There, Segura was found in possession of approximately 30 grams of methamphetamine.

Officials said the case highlights the ongoing link between drug trafficking and other crimes.
“Drug trafficking poses a serious threat to the safety and health of our communities,” the statement read. “Thanks to the diligence of the Pleasanton Police Department and Border Prosecution Unit prosecutor Kenny Lam, a significant quantity of methamphetamine was removed from the streets. This sentence reflects our ongoing commitment to holding drug offenders accountable.”
