SAN ANTONIO, Texas—A San Antonio couple was arrested this week and charged with Capital Murder in connection with the death of their 10-year-old adopted child, who was found with signs of severe and prolonged abuse.

Jonathan Miranda, 34, and Christina Miranda, 32, were taken into custody on October 1, 2025. The arrests stem from an investigation that began late Wednesday, September 24, 2025, when officers responded to a residence on the 5600 Block of Cielo Ranch and found the child unresponsive.

During the investigation, the child was found to have obvious signs of significant trauma across his body. Further work by the Medical Examiner and Homicide Detectives determined that the injuries were consistent with continuous trauma inflicted over approximately one year.

After gathering enough evidence, a warrant was issued, and the adoptive parents and guardians were apprehended by the Street Crimes Unit and Homicide Detectives.
