UVALDE, TX – The Uvalde Police Department announced a successful operation conducted by its newly formed Street Crimes Unit (SCU), part of the department’s Guardian Initiative launched in July 2025. The SCU focuses on intelligence-led policing, community engagement, interagency collaboration, and problem-oriented strategies to combat crime and improve public safety.
On September 16, 2025, SCU officers, working alongside partner agencies, executed a search warrant at a local residence. The operation resulted in the seizure of:
89 THC cartridges
$3,100 in U.S. currency
One stolen firearm
Chief Homer Delgado praised the unit, stating, “I am proud of the work our new Street Crimes Unit is doing to improve safety in our community. This case demonstrates the results we can achieve when agencies come together with a shared commitment to keeping Uvalde safe.”
The Uvalde Police Department extended thanks to the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division and the Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division for their critical support.
The department encourages anyone with information regarding drug or criminal activity to contact the Uvalde Police Department or their local law enforcement agency.
