On Friday evening, August 8th, a Bexar County jury sentenced Malik Pryor to 99 years in prison for the 2022 strangulation murder of his neighbor, 39-year-old Jarrod Papen.
Pryor was convicted earlier this week for killing Papen in his apartment following several verbal disputes between the two men.
On May 15, 2022, San Antonio Police officers found Papen’s body in the living room of Pryor’s apartment after a call from Pryor’s ex-girlfriend, who became concerned after noticing Papen’s body remained unmoved from the previous day.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner determined that Papen was strangled to death with an electric cord.
The case was prosecuted by Nick Mahrou and Erika DiNunzio.
