SAN ANTONIO, TX — A bar employee was arrested on August 1, 2025, after allegedly depositing duplicate payroll checks and stealing nearly $16,000 from his employer.

Deputies responded to the 90 Proof Bar, located in the 11800 block of US-90, following a forgery report. The business owner told investigators that their financial accountant had discovered unauthorized transactions involving an employee, identified as 20-year-old Wilson Octavio Hernandez-Flores.

According to the investigation, Flores used a mobile banking app to repeatedly deposit the same payroll checks, altering the amounts to avoid detection and exploiting delays in the bank’s processing system. He admitted to the scheme during questioning, stating he had repeated the behavior over time.

The total amount stolen was reported as $15,948.75.

Flores was arrested at the business without incident and booked into the Bexar County Jail on a charge of Forgery of a Financial Instrument over $2,500 but less than $30,000. His bond has been set at $7,500, and he remains in custody.
