LLANO, TX — On Monday, July 21, 2025, around 5:15 p.m., Llano Police were dispatched to the Llano River below the Roy B. Inks Bridge after a deceased male was discovered in the riverbed by a person fishing below the dam.
Due to higher-than-normal water levels, Llano Volunteer Fire Department Chief Gilliland assembled a swift water team to assist with the recovery. A drone was deployed to locate the body and document the scene before recovery efforts began.
The body, believed to be that of a 40- to 50-year-old man, was recovered with the assistance of the Llano Volunteer Fire Department, Texas Parks & Wildlife Game Wardens, and the Texas Rangers.
An autopsy was ordered, and the investigation into the man’s identity and cause of death has since concluded. Authorities have confirmed the death was a suicide. Efforts are underway to notify the man's family.
The case remains closed, and no further information will be released.
