San Marcos Police have arrested 19-year-old Jermiah Jayden Tobias in connection with a deadly shooting that left two men dead and another injured early Saturday, July 19, near the intersection of San Antonio and Guadalupe Streets.
Tobias was taken into custody just after 8 p.m. and is charged with two counts of capital murder and one count of aggravated assault.
According to investigators, the shooting followed a fight that broke out after another man allegedly stole a necklace. Tobias then opened fire, striking three individuals.
Anthony Barrera, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene. Alek Pacheco, 20, was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. A third victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released.
