Boerne Councilman Announces Resignation After Relocation Outside City Limits

Quinten Scott

BOERNE, TX — Boerne District 3 Councilman Quinten Scott announced during the July 8, 2025 City Council meeting that he intends to step down from his position, citing a recent move outside the city limits.

“I have been happy to serve, but those days are coming behind me,” Scott said during his announcement. “I appreciate all the members of the council that I have gotten to serve with. Those that are here, those that have come and gone.”

Scott expressed confidence in the council’s ability to select a suitable replacement for District 3 and said he is looking forward to the future.

The Boerne City Council is scheduled to formally accept Scott’s resignation and declare the District 3 seat vacant during its next regular meeting on July 22, 2025. According to the City Charter, Scott may continue to serve until a new member is appointed.

Once the vacancy is declared, the City Council will have 30 days to appoint a qualified replacement. Applicants must have lived within District 3 for at least six months prior to the appointment.

Interested residents will be able to submit their application materials to the Boerne City Secretary’s Office, located at 447 North Main Street, once the application period officially opens.

Scott was first elected to represent District 3 during a special election in May 2019 and was reelected in 2020, 2022, and 2024. His recent relocation outside Boerne city limits prompted the resignation.
