Emerson Keith Clark, 29, has been arrested and booked into the Comal County Jail, facing charges of Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant (x2), Assault Against an Elderly or Disabled Individual, and Assault Causes Bodily Injury to a Family Member. Bond has not yet been set.
The charges stem from an incident on Monday, July 7, 2025. At approximately 10:30 a.m., the Comal County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) received a 911 call regarding a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 1100 block of Havens Cross in New Braunfels. Before units arrived, Clark fled the scene in his vehicle, heading toward Hunter Road.
Shortly after leaving the residence, Clark allegedly intentionally struck a CCSO patrol deputy head-on with his vehicle, causing a major accident. Witnesses at the scene reported that Clark then began shooting in the direction of the deputy before fleeing on foot.
Comal County patrol deputies, aided by K9 and Drone units, Criminal Investigation units, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), and units from the New Braunfels Police Department, immediately launched a search for the suspect. Clark was located and detained moments later without further incident.
The patrol deputy involved in the crash was transported by ground EMS to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. Clark was also taken to a nearby hospital before being transported to the Comal County Sheriff’s Office for an interview with detectives.
This investigation remains ongoing.
