Man Crashes Into Deputy, Fires at Officer After Domestic Disturbance Call in Comal County


On Sunday, July 6th, the Comal County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 1100 block of Havens Cross in Comal County, Texas.

Before deputies arrived, 29-year-old Emerson Keith Clark fled the scene in his vehicle, traveling toward Hunter Road. Shortly after leaving, Clark reportedly struck a CCSO patrol vehicle head-on and then began firing at the deputy involved before fleeing the scene on foot.

Witnesses at the crash site stated that the collision appeared intentional and that Clark fired shots in the direction of the deputy following the impact.

Comal County deputies, along with assistance from K9 and Drone Units, the Criminal Investigation Division, Texas Department of Public Safety, and New Braunfels Police Department, initiated a search for the suspect. Clark was located and detained without further incident.

The deputy injured in the crash was transported by EMS to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Clark was taken to a hospital before being transported to the Comal County Sheriff’s Office for questioning. The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending.
