Two Men Arrested After Standoff in Guadalupe County Following Family Violence Incident

Two men are in custody following a physical disturbance and subsequent standoff in Guadalupe County late Monday night. Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Deputies and a Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden responded to a 911 report around 11:25 PM on June 23, 2025, in the 200 block of Kristine Lane.

Upon arrival, authorities found an adult female victim who had been severely beaten. She was transported to Guadalupe Regional Medical Center for treatment. The two adult male suspects, identified as Paul Aguilar and Andrew Gutierrez, barricaded themselves inside the residence and refused to surrender.

The Guadalupe County Sheriff's SWAT Team was activated and responded to the scene. After several hours of negotiation, both Aguilar and Gutierrez surrendered without further incident.

Paul Aguilar was arrested on an unrelated active warrant for Family Violence Assault and additionally charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member for this incident. Andrew Gutierrez was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Both men were booked into the Guadalupe County Adult Detention Facility.
