What you post online, has consequences. 48-year-old Travis Ryan Hayson of San Antonio was arrested after posting terroristic threats on youtube.
According to arrest records, Hayson made multiple threats on various YouTube videos directed at individuals participating in recent protests against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The posts were deemed racist and violent.
Some of the alarming comments attributed to Hayson include: "Texas just got a new hunting season," "texas doesn't need the National Guard.We’ll kill them ourselves," and "Bring on the race war!!!". The arrest affidavit also details several comments that contained racial slurs and were aimed at protesters, including those in California.
The investigator's report identified 17 comments made by Hayson between May 30 and June 11 that "reference committing mass violence to the general public." Google and YouTube reportedly flagged Hayson's activity and reported his comments to the FBI, providing authorities with his personal information, which led to his arrest.
