San Antonio Man Arrested for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child After Suspicious Park Activity

Arrest of Nathan John Gonzales

A suspicious vehicle alert in west Bexar County led deputies to arrest Nathan John Gonzales, 30, who is now charged with Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child. Gonzales was found with a 15-year-old juvenile victim after deputies observed concerning behavior in a park in the early hours of Monday, June 16.

At 11:58 PM, deputies were alerted to a suspicious vehicle in a west Bexar County park. Upon arrival, they observed the driver, later identified as Gonzales, exiting the rear passenger side of the vehicle, with his underwear fallen to the ground. He then re-entered the vehicle and drove away.

Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 11200 block of Vollmer Lane in northwest San Antonio after observing Gonzales disregard two stop signs. After stopping the vehicle and explaining the reason for the stop, deputies questioned Gonzales about his presence in the park. Gonzales claimed he did not know the juvenile victim with him was 15 years old.

Gonzales was detained and transported to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division. There, he reportedly admitted to meeting the victim through Snapchat and Instagram and acknowledged communicating with the victim over an extended period. Gonzales further admitted to arranging the meeting through online communication, which led to the alleged assault.

Nathan John Gonzales was subsequently booked into the Bexar County Jail and is currently being held on a $125,000 bond.
