Suspect Faces Upgraded Aggravated Sexual Assault Charge After Child Pornography Discovery in Bexar County

Enrique Soriano

A routine check during a specialty drug court program has led to a major upgrade in charges for Enrique Soriano, 38, who now faces Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, in addition to his initial child pornography charge. Soriano has been in custody at the Bexar County Jail since his initial arrest on April 11, 2025.

The investigation began when Soriano’s cellphone was reviewed as part of standard drug court protocol. Investigators immediately discovered disturbing content, including suspicious activity within a group chat on the messaging app Discord, where multiple individuals appeared to be sharing child pornography.

On June 3, 2025, Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Child Safe investigators received the completed forensic analysis of Soriano’s cellphone. The analysis revealed several explicit videos involving a child under the age of 11. Investigators were able to identify the child victim, which directly led to the upgraded, more severe felony charge. Soriano remains incarcerated without bond.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with additional information, or anyone who believes they or someone they know may have been victimized by Enrique Soriano, to contact investigators at 210-335-6000 or email BCSOTIPS@bexar.org.

Parents: Remain Vigilant About Online Risks

This case serves as a stark reminder for parents to stay actively involved in their children’s online activity. Apps like Discord, commonly used for gaming, messaging, and group chats, can unfortunately be exploited by sexual predators to share illegal content. Parents are highly encouraged to:

  • Check the apps their children are using.
  • Stay familiar with how those apps work.
  • Have open conversations about safe and responsible internet use with their children.
