What began as a suspicious activity call on Friday, May 23, 2025, ended with two arrests and the seizure of multiple narcotics and firearms in the 3000 block of Canyon Maple in far north Bexar County.
Deputies with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence after the homeowner reported a possible attempted burglary and believed someone may still have been inside the house. Deputies instructed the complainant to remain outside while they performed a protective sweep of the residence.
During the sweep, deputies observed in plain view multiple large packages of a green leafy substance with a strong odor of marijuana in an upstairs bedroom closet. Additionally, they located multiple THC vape cartridges in an upstairs common area. Field tests confirmed the cartridges contained THC.
Deputies seized the following items:
Narcotics:
5 pounds of marijuana
2.9 pounds of THC vape cartridges
2.9 ounces of Xanax
8 grams of cocaine
Firearms:
Ruger .380
Glock 26 (9mm)
Red Jacket (5.56 caliber)
Pioneer Arms Hellpup (7.62 caliber)
Anderson Arms AM15
Glock 17 (9mm)
The two suspects arrested at the scene were identified as 43-year-old Cassandra Torres and 34-year-old Joshua Gonzales-Garza. Both face the following charges:
Possession of a Controlled Substance (4–200 grams)
Possession of a Controlled Substance (under 400 grams)
Possession of a Controlled Substance (under 200 grams)
Possession of Marijuana (4 oz–5 lbs)
Both were booked into the Bexar County Jail with bond set at $55,000 each.
