Man Killed in High-Speed Crash on I-10

A 32-year-old man died Wednesday afternoon following a high-speed crash on Interstate 10, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

The crash occurred around 12:15 p.m. on May 21 near I-10 and Roland Avenue on the city’s Southeast Side. Authorities say the driver, identified as Arnulfo Hernandez, was attempting to pass a large truck at a high rate of speed when he struck a guardrail.

Police noted that Hernandez was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. He was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
