The Bandera County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Christopher Sandoval Mata, a member of the Bandera High School staff, following an investigation into an outcry of sexual indecency involving a student. The Bandera High School website shows Mata as the Alternative Learning Environment (ALE) head. This past February, the Bandera ISD gave special recognition to Mata for "going above and beyond".
Investigators were contacted by Bandera High School Administration and subsequently spoke with the victim, securing potential evidence. The ongoing investigation gathered sufficient evidence to obtain arrest warrants for Mata.
Mata was taken into custody on Friday, May 23rd, at approximately 2:00 PM and booked into the Bandera County Jail. He faces charges of:
