A Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office deputy was injured on Thursday, May 22, 2025, during a vehicle pursuit of a fleeing felony suspect near downtown Lockhart.

The deputy was assisting Lockhart Police when the patrol vehicle left the roadway at the intersection of South Colorado Street (Hwy 183) and Blackjack Street and crashed. No other vehicles or bystanders were involved in the collision.

Emergency Medical Services transported the deputy to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of the injuries has not been released.

The suspect was apprehended by Lockhart Police and is currently in custody at the Caldwell County Jail.
