Alert: Medina County Sheriff's Office Investigating Asphalt Sealing Scam

The Medina County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) is investigating a group of individuals reportedly traveling through north Medina County and offering asphalt sealing services, then demanding inflated payments.

The MCSO has identified possibly three persons of interest: two males and one female. A known vehicle associated with the group is a white Ford with Texas license plate VHG5744. These individuals are not local to Medina County and may be staying in a hotel in the San Antonio area.

The Sheriff's Office has received reports that the individuals initially quote a low price for the work, then demand a significantly larger amount upon completion. They allegedly use intimidation or threaten to call law enforcement if the inflated price is not paid.

The MCSO urges residents to be vigilant. If the described vehicle is observed, please contact the Medina County Sheriff's Office with its location. If you agree to services and the price is inflated upon completion, please contact the Sheriff's Office before making any payment.

Sheriff's Office investigators, led by Sgt. Investigator Brent Dillard, are actively seeking to make contact with these individuals. The public is asked to share this information with elderly neighbors, family, and friends, as they may be primary targets for intimidation for inflated payments.
