Bandera Electric Cooperative (BEC) has announced the recipients of its 2025–2026 scholarship program, awarding $2,500 each to ten graduating seniors across the region. The annual scholarships support local students pursuing higher education and mark BEC’s ongoing commitment to academic achievement in its service area.
The 2025–2026 BEC scholarship recipients are:
Sienna Kay Carter – Medina High School
Reelyn Fiedler – Tivy High School
Mauricio Gallegos – Center Point High School
William "Ozzie" Knowles – Bandera High School
Hallie Kunz – Medina High School
Jalyn Lamb – Bandera High School
Juana Leon – Comfort High School
Alexis "Lexi" Pendley – Leakey ISD
Kinzee Sperry – Bandera High School
Heather Baker – Bandera High School
Each recipient expressed their appreciation for the financial support as they prepare to attend universities across Texas and beyond.
Sienna Kay Carter, who will attend the University of Texas at Austin, said, “Receiving this generous scholarship provides me with the financial security I need to continue my academic journey without worry.”
Reelyn Fiedler of Tivy High School plans to study architecture at Texas Tech University. “Because of this scholarship, I am closer to my goals and aspirations,” she said.
Mauricio Gallegos from Center Point High School will attend Texas A&M University to pursue civil engineering. “I am very thankful for BEC and the scholarship that they are providing for the community,” Gallegos said.
Jalyn Lamb of Bandera High School plans to double major in Animal Science and Agricultural Communications at Oklahoma State University. “I am incredibly grateful for this scholarship, which allows me to pursue my dreams and make a positive impact on the agricultural industry,” Lamb said.
