Just after 2:30 PM on Mothers Day, May 11th, fire crews from Medina County Fire stations 12, 14, and 15 responded to a reported structure fire off County Road 271, near Medina Lake in the Mico response area.

Medic 12 was the first to arrive on scene, reporting an older barn heavily engulfed in flames, with the surrounding brush and fence beginning to catch fire.

Engine 14 arrived shortly after and initiated fire suppression efforts, successfully preventing any further spread of the fire.

Officials commended the swift and effective actions of all responding firefighters in containing the blaze and preventing it from escalating into a larger brushfire.
