Bandera County's 12 Dispatchers Field Over 90,000 Calls in 2024


The Bandera County Sheriff's Office is highlighting the dedication and workload of its 12 dispatchers, who provide round-the-clock communications services to the county. These dispatchers work 12-hour shifts and collectively possess approximately 77 years of experience in telecommunications and emergency services, with Supervisor Chupp leading the team with 17 years of service.

In 2024 alone, Bandera County Dispatchers answered a staggering 79,317 calls on non-emergency lines and an additional 10,971 calls on the 911 emergency line, totaling over 90,000 calls for service. The call volume peaked in July with 9,555 calls. These calls encompass requests for law enforcement, EMS, fire departments, animal control, and the jail.

On average, each of the 12 Bandera County Dispatchers answered 7,524 calls throughout the year. The Sheriff's Office emphasized the crucial role these numbers play, concluding with the important numeric value: 9-1-1.
