The New Braunfels Police Street Crimes Unit seized a large quantity of illegal drugs during two separate traffic stops on Interstate 35 over the weekend.
On Friday, March 28, officers conducted a traffic stop along I-35, resulting in the arrest of four individuals from Corpus Christi and the confiscation of more than 1,300 grams of THC cartridges. All four suspects were transported to the Comal County Jail, where they were charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Penalty Group 2 >=400g). The case remains under investigation, with additional charges possible.
On Saturday, March 29, another traffic stop on I-35 led to the discovery of more than 500 pounds of marijuana. The driver, a resident of Choctaw, Oklahoma, was traveling from Oklahoma to San Antonio when he was stopped in New Braunfels. He was taken into custody and booked into the Comal County Jail on a charge of Possession of Marijuana (>50 lbs <= 2,000 lbs). Authorities continue to investigate, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
Both cases remain under investigation by the New Braunfels Police Department.
