Schertz Police Investigating Jugging Incident at Local Storage Facility

On October 17, 2024, at 1:24 PM, Schertz Police responded to a reported robbery at AAA Key Mini Storage on Triton Drive. However, the investigation revealed no robbery had taken place.

The victim reported withdrawing a large sum of cash from Broadway Bank before heading to the storage facility, where two suspects followed him through the gate. Once there, the suspects took the money from his unattended vehicle.

Schertz Police, with assistance from a K9 unit and drone operator from Cibolo PD, set up a perimeter in an attempt to locate the suspects. Security footage confirmed that the suspects had followed the victim from the bank.

The suspects, described as Black males, were seen wearing a gray hoodie with crosses, black pants, and black shoes; the second suspect wore a black Nike hoodie, black pants with white stripes, and black shoes.

The incident is classified as “jugging,” a crime where suspects follow individuals after withdrawing cash and target them at a different location. The Schertz Police Department advises the public to remain vigilant and follow safety tips when handling cash withdrawals.

This investigation is ongoing, and authorities thank Cibolo Police for their support in ensuring the victim's safety.
