Drug Bust in Seguin Leads to Arrests After Police Encounter Aggressive Pit Bull

Vince Riojas and Michelle Galindo (with confiscated drugs)

On April 18th, 2024, at 8:00 P.M, The Guadalupe County Narcotics Task Force (GCNTF) collaborated with the Seguin Police Department C.A.S.E Unit to execute a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of W Ireland Street. This action followed an evasion by Vince Riojas and Michelle Galindo in a vehicle from a Seguin PD C.A.S.E. Unit Officer earlier that day.

Upon Riojas and Galindo's return to the residence, GCNTF personnel were present to execute the search warrant. However, as officers attempted to detain them, they encountered an aggressive Pit Bull Terrier, prompting one officer to discharge their service weapon, resulting in the death of the canine.

Subsequent investigation led to the seizure of 7.7 grams of Cocaine, 100.7 grams of Methamphetamine, and the arrest of Michelle Marie Galindo and Vince Ray Riojas. Galindo faces two charges of Manufacture or Delivery of Substance in Penalty Group 1, while Riojas faces similar charges along with Evading Arrest or Detention with A Vehicle. Further charges and arrests are expected as investigations continue.

The Guadalupe County Narcotics Task Force, comprising Detectives, Investigators, and Criminal Interdiction K9 Units from Seguin Police Department, Cibolo Police Department, and the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office, conducted this operation in response to citizen complaints and tips submitted to the Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers anonymous tip system.

Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers urges community members to assist law enforcement anonymously in combating crime through their website, guadalupecountycrimestoppers.org, or by calling 1-877-403-8477 (TIPS) or using the P3 Tips App.
